  KINDNESS IN THIS TRYING TIME   Do you ever pause and step aside from the pressure of this challenging period in our socioeconomic polity to consider for a moment who God is and what he is like, what do you think? If you were to be asked “what dose God delight in?” what would be your answer?    Are you aware of this verse in Jeremiah 9:23-24 “let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these I delight.”   In them we see a God who delights in exercising kindness, justice and righteousness on the earth. One can’t help but be struck by the fact that God delights in exercising kindness. BUT YOU HAVE A FRIEND … not like Jonadab   But Amnon had a friend called Jonadab. Words are fast losing their true meaning everywhere; words are freely used but sadly misunderstood, misconstrued and misapplied. TOPIC: AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPEST TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:14 :-   Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. INTRODUCTION SLEEP is a natural and periodic state of rest during which consciousness of the world is suspended. During sleep the physical body is re-energized. Hence it serves a useful purpose. Sleep is also used as a symbol of death in many places in the Bible.   2Samuel 7:12 :- And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 1Kings 2:10 :- So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.   We will examine sleep in its two board types; Natural and Spiritual.   1.        NATURAL SLEEP This form of sleep is a gift from God.
