TOPIC: AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPEST TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:14 :- Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. INTRODUCTION SLEEP is a natural and periodic state of rest during which consciousness of the world is suspended. During sleep the physical body is re-energized. Hence it serves a useful purpose. Sleep is also used as a symbol of death in many places in the Bible. 2Samuel 7:12 :- And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 1Kings 2:10 :- So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. We will examine sleep in its two board types; Natural and Spiritual. 1. NATURAL SLEEP This form of sleep is a gift from God. Lack of it can lead to sickness and lack of concentration.
